I’ve solely ever attended potluck Thanksgivings. Normally host makes the turkey, potatoes, gravy, and some sides and gives beer, wine, and gentle drinks. Visitors carry appetizers, different sides, desserts, and extra wine (although that’s normally extra of a hostess reward). The host coordinates who’s bringing what so all bases are lined and there aren’t duplications (until supposed).
As for the omission of liquor from the above: one aspect of my household doesn’t drink liquor so it’s not wanted. The opposite aspect of my household is fairly explicit so individuals are likely to BYO.
My whole prolonged household lives lower than half-hour away, so we don’t have any of the considerations of the pot pie on this morning’s thread. In reality, my aunt and uncle dwell subsequent door to my mother and father and one other aunt lives about an 8 minute stroll away, so they simply stroll over (which is nice as there’s no fear about ingesting and driving).
