Eater NY’s Melissa McCart Honored by the Culinary Institute of America


On April 18, Eater NY editor Melissa McCart was offered with the Craig Claiborne Award for Meals Journalism by the Culinary Institute of America. Shared on the CIA’s annual graduation ceremony for brand spanking new graduates, the award is called after the New York Occasions meals editor and restaurant critic, Craig Claiborne, who died in 2000.

The Culinary Institute of America usually points a number of awards at its a number of commencements ceremonies, recognizing main cooks and different figures within the restaurant world. CIA president Tim Ryan praised McCart on the graduation as “one of many nation’s excellent meals journalists.”

“I’m a superfan of the CIA and have been up there many instances: The training on the college is super. It means the world to me to have obtained an award from a faculty that I respect a lot,” says McCart.
